Cell Phone for Children

In this modern era, there are many sophisticated gadgets. One of them is cell phone. We can see that everyone has a cell phone, even children like elementary school students. They bring their cell phones every where and every time. Is it good? For me it is not, since children cannot control their selves yet.
According to Anne, a cell phone can help children to study. A cell phone with internet facility can help the users to study, because they can search and get any sort of information from it. So, cell phone is good for children to facilitate their study. Moreover, it can help the children to communicate with their parents.
Anne’s opinion is true, but children cannot control their selves yet. If parents do not control their children, they will overreact. For example, when a teacher asks his/her students to look for some information about their subject on the internet, they will possibly be more interested in some other things like social networks or games. Since cell phone is a new thing for children, it is worried that they will forget its first aim after having tried social networks or games. In this case, parents’ control is very important. However in fact, almost all parents are busy with their works. Thus, it is better for children not to have a cell phone.
Some people said that a cell phone helps children to communicate with their parents. It is true, but there are some other ways to keep in touch with parents. For instance, when school finishes earlier than it does in common, children can use public phone or school’s phone to inform their parents. Therefore, there is no need for them to have a cell phone.
In conclusion, a cell phone, especially the one with internet, camera, mp3 player, and game facilities is not good for children since they cannot control their selves yet. For that matter, children do not yet need a cell phone.
